There is nothing wrong with having side-interests
other than your chief pre-occupation. They make you multidimensional
and round off your personality. But if you do not have a side-interest,
you are bound to get senile and stale, rather quickly when you
retire. Bored stiff, you will probably be more in your bed then.
However
there is a major difference between having a healthy, stimulating
side-interest and having a side business. Mr.Side-Biz is more
focused on the latter. You will recognize Mr.Side Biz and his
intentions very quickly. All you need to do is to watch what he
does post his office hours (often he indulges in his side business
in his office hours as well). Be a little clever and befriend
his secretary. Look carefully and closely at the letters that
she is typing. You will notice that she is using different letterheads.
Often they are not the same as those printed for your company.
He is busy focusing on another company.
