Old age drives some
of us senile. The others turn vile.
Mr. Last Emperor just
cannot let go. “Till death do us apart” he seems to
tell his CEO chair. The two are inseparable. Needless to say his
coffin will carry his visiting card pasted on top. Just to let
the world know that he is still in charge.
For last 10,15,20
years he has been ruling the roost and being CEO has become second
nature to him now. He cannot let go. He has, of course, come a
long way. Look down the pyramid. There are hundreds and thousands
of employees who have been daydreaming of being the CEO. They
struggled, plotted, cheated, connived, and wooed Lady Luck so
that they would one day become the Number One. However, only one
lucky man succeeds. Having acquired this success, he cannot or
rather will not let go.
